Everyone already probably knows I went to Penang today to get my braces done again. I feel like I share my life better online than in real life. /shifty
So we set off at 9 today, ate breakfast at Jin Hoe near City Point and met Aunty Amelia there, where she was using an iPod. Which she introduced it to me. Which I am begging my dad for one for my birthday. Which he says I’ll have to ask Aunty Jaime. Well, okay.
Then, we set off, and I slept the whole way. We reached at 10.12AM, and my appointment was 10.30 AM. Had to wait for a whole freaking hour before my name was called. And with suggestions from all you guys on Facebook and Tumblr last night (blue/yellow won by a 5:3 over pink/yellow) I chose the former. And came out smiling. Although the yellow wasn’t as outstanding as I had expected.
Later we went to this Indian market because we saw in the newspaper there was these shops full of cheap second hand bookstores and I’m not joking when I say you can practically smell the books in there. It was so full of stacks and stacks of books you could very well knock a mountain down if you happen to wave your hand stupidly carelessly around. I got four books:
- Escape -Carolyn Jessop
- Picture Perfect -Jodi Picoult
- Harvesting The Heart -Jodi Picoult
- The Tenth Circle -Jodi Picoult
All the Picoults books were brand new and cost RM25, whereas Escape was secondhand and was RM15. (BTW, Sasha, if you’re reading this, they had a secondhand Jane Eeyre there. (: )
Our pockets were empty by then because we carried light today. We didn’t got to Queensbay like we always do -no money, remember? xD- so we bought a few tidbits and came to a consensus to head for Sunway Carnival Mall in Butterworth. I went to Popular but didn’t buy anything. How can I when I’ve already got 4 books? Dad will absolutely kill me.
I took a couple of random photos with my phone -because mum forgot to bring her DSLR- and even got reprimanded by a lady at her kiosk. Afraid I would still her idea or whatever. The main reason I was doing this was because a person I followed on Tumblr gave me a couple of good advice dealing with mild depression, and while hers was drawing random stuff, I like to snap these shots and maybe try to decipher stuff from each shot. Maybe.
I completed Geo notes a while ago, and now sharing my braces story with Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, and now WordPress.
Oh, and just to spite all you American Idol fanatics, ANDREW AND KATIE ARE OUT TONIGHT.
Thank God.
PS. All you people of Facebook and Tumblr are gonna bear with me for the next two years when I beg you guys for opinions for my braces colour. Brace yourselves. No pun intended. (:
Picoult’s books are nice.
OH that’s uber-sweet. I think i’ve been there. does that place have a name?
@aj7: yup, they are. 🙂
@Inez: Not that I know of. It’s basically a very hidden and small store full of books. 🙂
Hey Michelle. I tried yellow before & after a week, it faded! :(((((
WHERE IS THAT SHOPP ? I WANNA GO! I wanna get A Walk to Remember, an old book. Do you know that book ?
-X.
:O It did? I don’t want to try yellow anymore. >.<
