Worn Out

God created the human body to withstand certain exertions only, and till today, my body is probably on its way to the junkyard.

It’s been kawad, kawad and kawad these few days, with the approach of Sports Day and all, and I’ve resumed to my daily routine of spending almost twelve hours in school since orchestra practice last month. It doesn’t help that exams are inching nearer than ever and homework is piling up like I don’t know what. Every day I come home, shower, and fall asleep almost immediately. And that’s to saying that I didn’t even touch my homework. A teenager’s life these days… you’d think we were obsessive compulsive workaholics. We’re not. We’re worse than that.

I’ve about just had more than my body can bear at the field during kawad just now. But it doesn’t end there. There’s more tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and the day after that. And then another week passes by and I feel myself facing the dread of midyear exams and the fact that I’m so left behind. It’s one of the times when time seemed to speed up so very quickly for me I can’t even seem to catch my breath now and then.

If being fifteen and studying in Form Three means never ending torture like this, I don’t know how to continue living my life in peace. I don’t know how you do it, Sasha. This is worse than hell.

Siobhan Gets The Boot

So I’m going to give you a recap of the American Idol Top 6 result show, through my point of view.

So it starts with a ‘behind the scenes’ filming, which was pretty rare. Okay, Ryan comes out, announcing a whole load of performances by famous artistes. To be honest, I was pretty surprised -and excited- Rascal Flatts and Lady Antebellum were performing. But since I’ve already known who was going to leave that night, I wasn’t as worked up as I’d usually be.

So I watched Rascal Flatts perform.

Then they show a clip where the contestants go watch Shrek Forever After. Then Ryan comes out, have a banter with Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas. Okay. I wait.

Then he divides all six contestants into 3 groups of twos and I’m like ‘What the heck, Ryan?’ But the part when he pulled Siobhan over to join Michael and Casey and announce them as the bottom three, it was just so frustrating. I am willing to bet there was lots of unexpected gasps among the crowd at live stage, since Siobhan was one of the best contestants after all.

And later I had to watch other people performing painfully because I was pretty sure Siobhan was having a hard time, knowing she was in the bottom three but still had to endure the next few hours with a smile on her face.

Lady Antebellum’s performance ends, and Ryan reminds us of the bottom three again.

We know, Ryan. We know.

Fast forward. Michael, Casey and Siobhan are on the center of the stage.

Ryan declares Michael safe.

I know people are holding their breath.

“The one leaving us for tonight is…. Siobhan Magnus.”

Well oh shit.

I have always loved Siobhan’s rendition of Aretha Franklin’s ‘Think’, and when she sang it, I just…cried.

Rest assured, Siobhan, you will always have a faithful fan here. Right here.

Miss ya already. ❤

And it all goes down in flames.

Because, guess what?

Siobhan is out of the game.

Seriously, if it wasn’t because I saw it on Tumblr, I’d think she was pretty decent this week, all things considered. But America had to fack up and kick her out. What stupidity is this?

Anyhoo. It doesn’t really matter, I guess. I’ll still be her faithful supporter.

Suck on it, America.

BLUE/YELLOW!

Blue and yellow braces. 🙂

Everyone already probably knows I went to Penang today to get my braces done again. I feel like I share my life better online than in real life. /shifty

So we set off at 9 today, ate breakfast at Jin Hoe near City Point and met Aunty Amelia there, where she was using an iPod. Which she introduced it to me. Which I am begging my dad for one for my birthday. Which he says I’ll have to ask Aunty Jaime. Well, okay.

Then, we set off, and I slept the whole way. We reached at 10.12AM, and my appointment was 10.30 AM. Had to wait for a whole freaking hour before my name was called. And with suggestions from all you guys on Facebook and Tumblr last night (blue/yellow won by a 5:3 over pink/yellow) I chose the former. And came out smiling. Although the yellow wasn’t as outstanding as I had expected.

Later we went to this Indian market because we saw in the newspaper there was these shops full of cheap second hand bookstores and I’m not joking when I say you can practically smell the books in there. It was so full of stacks and stacks of books you could very well knock a mountain down if you happen to wave your hand stupidly carelessly around. I got four books:

  • Escape -Carolyn Jessop
  • Picture Perfect -Jodi Picoult
  • Harvesting The Heart -Jodi Picoult
  • The Tenth Circle -Jodi Picoult

All the Picoults books were brand new and cost RM25, whereas Escape was secondhand and was RM15. (BTW, Sasha, if you’re reading this, they had a secondhand Jane Eeyre there. (: )

Our pockets were empty by then because we carried light today. We didn’t got to Queensbay like we always do -no money, remember? xD- so we bought a few tidbits and came to a consensus to head for Sunway Carnival Mall in Butterworth. I went to Popular but didn’t buy anything. How can I when I’ve already got 4 books? Dad will absolutely kill me.

I took a couple of random photos with my phone -because mum forgot to bring her DSLR- and even got reprimanded by a lady at her kiosk. Afraid I would still her idea or whatever. The main reason I was doing this was because a person I followed on Tumblr gave me a couple of good advice dealing with mild depression, and while hers was drawing random stuff, I like to snap these shots and maybe try to decipher stuff from each shot. Maybe.

I completed Geo notes a while ago, and now sharing my braces story with Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, and now WordPress.

Oh, and just to spite all you American Idol fanatics, ANDREW AND KATIE ARE OUT TONIGHT.

Thank God.

PS. All you people of Facebook and Tumblr are gonna bear with me for the next two years when I beg you guys for opinions for my braces colour. Brace yourselves. No pun intended. (:

NURATHIRAH NATALIA!

This post is dedicated to my lovely spouse, Nurathirah Natalia.

Dear Natalia, I miss you like crazy and I’m not even kidding. I hope you kill the swine flu and hurry back to me immediately, okay? Without you, it just feels…empty, really. I miss your jokes and laughter and…let’s not make this an epitaph speech.

But do hurry back, and I wish you get well incredibly soon! Everybody better keep her in your prayers or I’ll search for you house address and hunt you down and kill you or incapacitate you in any way possible.

You don’t worry about anything except getting better okay, Nat? ❤ you more than Hayles. LOL. <33

I fell down the hole.

How do I even begin to describe what is going on within me? All I know is that I’m a giant ball of mess that can’t seem to correct itself. To be honest, I’m deflated right now. All those passion -even if it was full of hatred- was let out in my Tumblr. To be honest, the main reason I don’t post here as often anymore is because I have absolutely nothing to write here. To me, WordPress is my squeaky clean blog, the one exposed to everyone, to those who would judge me on the innocent, clean posts I write here. And that’s the truth. This is Dr Jekyll, Tumbr’s Hyde. I don’t speak my mind here anymore, mostly because if I do, I’ll probably be long dead.

I’ve been walking a long and winding road, and I just don’t know where to go. No one’s telling me anything, giving me directions. I’m too tired to keep up this squeaky clean image of mine. This ‘Michelle’s such a perfect person’ image. I’m through accepting limits, and I’m just gonna be me.

SIOBHAN-BIES

Siobhan Magnus, 20, Massachusetts

Right. So you’ve already figured out that I’m one of the Siobhan-bies now. Good for you.

She is my favourite right now. In fact, I have good reason for that. First, she is pretty. Okay, I might be a little biased about that, but she is. Even though she does look like Lovato a little when she smiles. Second, she has amazing vocals. Just look at her screams. She almost nails every performance each week, even the judges say so. (Well, for Simon. I have some doubts.) Third, she is unique. She doesn’t specify on a specific genre, like most other contestants do. In fact, I’m pretty sure she’ll do brilliant with any genre of song (but of course, she does best for screamo) and she had her own unusual trademark style, be it her singing or dressing or performing. And that is why many are dubbing her the female version of Adam Lambert; her high pitch scream being one of the similarities between both idols.

With such an amazing contestant in this show, I’m wondering why the producers don’t start naming her as the winner already.

Oh, right, because there is still the forever-Simon’s-favourite Crystal Bowersox.

Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against Mamasox, but what I want to know is, why are people falling for Crystal’s performances instead of Siobhan’s? To be honest, I do not see the outstanding-ness of Crystal’s performances. She’s the country/folk kinda singer, and singers like her are way too abundant, now that everyone’s trying to mimck Taylor you-belong-with-me-but-i-still-need-to-write-a-love-story Swift. No, I do not have anything against Swift either.

People that shouldn’t even still be in the show are Tim Urban and Katie Stevens. Aaron Kelly is still in because he’s stealing young girls’ hearts from Justine Beaver. Michael Lynche is the role model of a perfect husband/father/man. Casey James is Kara’s eye candy and Andrew Garcia is still leaving people with memories of his supposingly amazing version of ‘Staight Up’.

Oh hi there, Lee Dewyze. Why the heck are you still here?

Spirit Bound

Spirit Bound

Dimitri gave Rose the ultimate choice. But she chose wrong…

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri’s birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir’s—and to her best friend, Lissa. It is nearly graduation, and the girls can’t wait for their real lives beyond the Academy’s iron gates to begin. But Rose’s heart still aches for Dimitri, and she knows he’s out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance. And now her worst fears are about to come true— Dimitri has tasted her blood, and now he is hunting her. Only this time, he won’t rest until Rose joins him…forever.

Just to throw it out thereeee, some might think my addiction/obsession is due to someone else’s addiction/obsession too. Nuuuu. One of the reason’s cos I keep on picturing Dimitri as smexyGaspardUlliel. Okay. Nuff with the rambling. kthxbai.

Green // Purple-ish

For those who don’t know yet, I went to Penang today for my fourth orthodontic appointment. Listened to Paramore on my mp4 the whole way there until I dozed off. (JSYK, I woke up at seven today. Seven. On a Friday. Sheesh.) How ironic for The Only Exception to start playing just when I reached there.

So I asked for suggestions on Tumblr last night and I decided to go with Chrissy’s suggestion: green and blue. It kinda reminds me of Barney. And that female dinosaur whose name I can’t and won’t remember.

And after that we went to Queensbay Mall and I semi-died from euphoria at Borders.

I got;

  • The Last Song -Nicholas Sparks
  • Dear John -Nicholas Sparks
  • Nineteen Minutes -Jodi Picoult

-flails-

‘Twas a great day today, even though my braces itch. At least it wasn’t as worse as the time I first had it on. That was hell. This was…the Inbetween. LMAO.

MAYOPIE IS OUTTA HERE.

…and back to you, Ryan.
